A striking and unique composition was created on the left side of the driveway, with the glass patio as its most eye-catching element. Beneath the glass, a carefully arranged stone feature was designed to mimic a natural stone stream. The structure was built with Finland’s harsh winter conditions in mind, ensuring durability against snow loads and year-round maintenance challenges like cleaning and preventing condensation. This demanding construction project was made possible through the expertise of both a metal workshop and a glass company with professional installation services.

During the yard renovation, reclaimed concrete wall stones were repurposed to construct the planting beds surrounding the glass patio. The terrace paving combines Lapland marble and granite cobblestones. Lapland marble had already been tested for durability in the backyard, where it has been installed in the same manner for several years.

The Corten steel planter borders were crafted at a local metal workshop. In summer 2018, the planting area was complemented by a custom-designed water feature, created as a handcrafted Finnish steel artwork designed by Heidi. The unique effect of this feature comes from LED lighting behind a laser-cut lightning pattern, making it a stunning focal point in the evening twilight. The side panels of the water feature have a mirror finish, reflecting the ornamental grass planted behind it for an enhanced visual effect.For the terrace furniture, the Vondom Stone collection was chosen to complement the modern aesthetic.
